People usually think Chatbots are robots which are made so as to interact with us humans. Well, it’s not just that. There’s a lot to it if you think about it. What you should be thinking about, when you think Chatbots, is it’s the top of the funnel, marketing, lead acquisition, nurturing and conversion technology. Bots learn the same way people learn through progression. CHATBOT is a computer program designed to simulate conversation with human users, especially over internet. Chatbot represents a new trend in how people access information, make decisions and communicate. We're no longer teaching people how to communicate with systems, we are teaching systems to communicate with people. Chatbot will be your new best friend. If you picture the journey of Chatbots from 1960s to now, you can see that what was once a fantasy of being able to communicate with a non-living virtual being is now part of our everyday lives. I believe people need to have right expectations. Chatbots doesn’t have a human level intelligence yet. But they are very good at automating simple tasks and personalizing the experience for the users. People love chatting- 18.7 billion texts are sent worldwide everyday, 60 billion messages sent everyday through WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. A Chatbot is something you can interact with conversationally using natural language. Chatbots are the future of engagement between a fan and a celebrity. It’s the beginning of the brand new era - there was web, then mobile, apps and now bots. “A bot that provides information today could provide contextual recommendations tomorrow." Something exciting is happening. The Chatbot industry is slowly but surely getting flooded with interesting data points, research and surveys. 21% of consumers see Chatbots as the easiest way to contact a business. There has been a lot of hype around Chatbots and artificial intelligence with little to show for, until now. “The over-all point is that new technology will not necessarily replace old technology, but it will outdate it. Eventually, it will replace it. But it’s like people who had black-and-white TVs, when color TVs came out. They eventually decided whether or not the new technology was worth the investment.” - Steve Jobs. Bots are no longer a cool innovation; they are a must, that lets brands meet changing user's expectations.
